OnePlus has officially launched its latest flagship lineup—the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R—marking a significant technological milestone. These devices are the first smartphones in India to support Jio’s 5.5G network, leveraging advanced Component Carrier Aggregation (3CC) technology to deliver blazing-fast download speeds of over 1 Gbps.
OnePlus 13 Series: First to Embrace Jio’s 5.5G Revolution
James Paterson, Senior Global PR Manager at OnePlus, underscored the importance of the brand’s collaboration with Jio, emphasizing the enhanced connectivity capabilities of the OnePlus 13 series. With the ability to connect to three separate network cells simultaneously, users can experience faster speeds and improved network performance.
During a live demonstration, the OnePlus 13 achieved impressive download speeds:
- 277.78 Mbps on regular 5G
- 1,014.86 Mbps on Jio’s 5.5G network
This represents a staggering 380% improvement in download speeds, depending on network conditions. Users connected to the 5.5G network will see a “5GA” icon on their devices, indicating the highest level of network performance, as reported by Indian Express.
Seamless Access to Jio’s 5.5G Network
One of the standout features of Jio’s 5.5G Advanced network is its simplicity—no additional settings or configurations are required. As long as users have a compatible device, such as the OnePlus 13 series, they can seamlessly enjoy faster speeds, reduced latency, and enhanced connectivity.
Although 5.5G technology theoretically supports speeds between 10 Gbps and 20 Gbps, the current rollout operates on standalone (SA) 5G networks, ensuring users experience significant speed gains and improved reliability.
OnePlus 13: Pricing and Availability
The OnePlus 13 is available in three variants:
- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: ₹69,999
- 16GB RAM + 512GB storage: ₹76,999
- 24GB RAM + 1TB storage: ₹89,999
The devices will go on sale starting January 10, 2025, via Amazon and other retail platforms. Additionally, buyers using ICICI Bank cards can avail of a special offer, reducing the price of the base model to ₹64,999.
