iPhone SE 4 and New iPads Tipped for April Launch, Expected to Ship with iOS 18.3

Apple enthusiasts have reason to be excited as fresh reports hint at the imminent launch of the iPhone SE 4 alongside new iPad models, potentially as early as April 2025. The speculation, fueled by a recent report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, suggests that Apple may unveil its budget-friendly iPhone and updated iPads sooner than previously anticipated. Earlier rumors had placed the launch sometime in the first half of the year, but this latest development narrows it down to a spring window, likely between March and April.

Adding fuel to the excitement, an anonymous post on X (formerly Twitter) hinted that these upcoming Apple devices will ship with iOS 18.3 right out of the box. Historically, Apple releases mid-cycle updates, such as “.3” versions, around late January or early February, but Gurman speculates that the iPhone SE 4’s release may not align directly with that timeline. Instead, the launch could follow the rollout of iOS 18.4, expected in April, which will introduce key new features like Apple Intelligence support for non-English languages.

Apple’s pattern of spring launches adds credibility to these predictions. Last year, the company unveiled the M4 iPad Pro and the M2 iPad Air in May, alongside the release of iPadOS 17.4. Given Apple’s consistent strategy of synchronizing major product launches with software rollouts, April seems like a plausible timeframe for the debut of the iPhone SE 4 and new iPad models.

Price and Positioning of the iPhone SE 4

Initially rumored to be Apple’s most economical offering, the iPhone SE 4 has attracted significant attention from consumers hoping for a more affordable entry point into the Apple ecosystem. However, recent reports suggest a slight price hike. A South Korean blog estimates the retail price at approximately KRW 800,000 (roughly 46,000 INR or USD 500), a figure slightly higher than initial projections but still competitive in the mid-range smartphone market.

Despite the potential increase in price, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to retain its appeal by offering Apple’s trademark quality and ecosystem integration at a relatively lower cost than the flagship models.
