Hyundai is set to launch its much-anticipated Creta Electric during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, marking the brand’s third electric vehicle in India. Positioned as a premium offering, the Creta Electric is designed to rival models such as the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara in the fiercely competitive mid-size electric SUV segment.
Safety First: A Robust Framework and Cutting-Edge Technology
Hyundai emphasizes occupant safety with the use of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) and High Strength Steel (HSS), reinforced with extensive hot stamping. This engineering focus ensures a robust protective frame, creating a safer driving environment.
The Creta Electric comes equipped with 52 standard safety features, including six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, ISOFIX, tire pressure monitoring system, and hill-start/hill-descent assist. Higher trims will boast an impressive 75 safety features, such as Surround View Monitor (SVM), Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM), and rain-sensing wipers. A key highlight is its Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), featuring Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Collision Warning, and Smart Cruise Control with stop-and-go functionality.
Premium Features for a Superior Experience
Targeting a premium segment, the Creta Electric is packed with standout features. The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability allows users to power external devices, enhancing its utility. Its innovative i-Pedal technology enables seamless one-pedal driving, allowing the driver to accelerate, decelerate, and stop using just the accelerator pedal.
Additional premium inclusions are the Shift-by-Wire system and a Digital Key, offering smartphone and smartwatch-based control, along with in-car payment for EV charging. Inside, the cabin is anchored by dual 10.25-inch screens, a Bose premium 8-speaker system, and a suite of 70 connected car features.
Futuristic Design Inspired by Hyundai’s Pixel Aesthetic
While retaining the iconic Creta ICE styling, the Creta Electric integrates Hyundai’s global Pixel design language for a futuristic touch. Its Pixelated Graphic Grille doubles as a charging port, while the sleek LED tail lamps and Active Air Flaps (AAF) enhance both aesthetics and aerodynamic efficiency. The vehicle sits on 17-inch Aero Alloys with low rolling resistance tires for improved energy efficiency.
Performance and Charging: Two Battery Options
The Creta Electric will offer two battery pack options: a 51 kWh pack with a claimed range of 473 km and a 42 kWh pack with a range of 390 km (ARAI certified). The 51 kWh version delivers 169 bhp, while the smaller pack generates 133 bhp, with a 0-100 kmph sprint in just 7.9 seconds.
Charging options include DC fast charging, enabling a 10-80% charge in 58 minutes, and an 11 kW Smart Connected Wall Box charger for home use, achieving a full charge in approximately 4 hours.
