BSNL Launches IFTV Service in Gujarat, Offering Over 500 Channels Without a Set-Top Box

State-run telecom giant BSNL has officially launched its Internet Fiber Television (IFTV) service in the Gujarat telecom circle, further expanding its digital offerings. This innovative service provides access to over 500 live TV channels—including premium pay-TV content—all without the need for a traditional set-top box. Users can enjoy HD-quality streaming through their BSNL Bharat Fiber broadband connection.

No Set-Top Box Needed: Stream Directly on Your TV

What sets BSNL’s IFTV apart is its simplicity. Unlike conventional IPTV services, BSNL’s IFTV works seamlessly on older LCD or LED TVs with just a Fire Stick. Subscribers can easily stream live TV content by connecting the device to their broadband network, ensuring hassle-free digital entertainment.

BSNL confirmed the Gujarat launch via its official handle on X (formerly Twitter). The service was previously rolled out in Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Punjab, where BSNL partnered with Skypro to bring the service to users. BSNL first announced its IFTV service during the India Mobile Congress (IMC) last year, signaling its commitment to driving digital transformation in India.

Free for BSNL Bharat Fiber Users

A key highlight of BSNL’s IFTV service is that it comes at no additional cost for BSNL Bharat Fiber subscribers. The company promises a buffer-free streaming experience with seamless connectivity. This marks India’s first fiber-based internet TV service, offering users an advanced digital entertainment solution through broadband technology.

BSNL’s Expansion Plans: 4G, 5G Rollout and 3G Shutdown

In addition to its IFTV service, BSNL is aggressively working on launching its 4G and 5G services across India. The company is currently installing over 100,000 new mobile towers, with more than 60,000 already operational. The nationwide rollout of 4G services is expected to be completed soon, followed by the launch of 5G connectivity later this year.

Meanwhile, BSNL has also announced that it will discontinue its 3G services starting January 15. This move is part of its broader strategy to upgrade existing infrastructure and transition users to 4G networks, ensuring better speeds and improved connectivity.
