Jeep India has reintroduced the 4X4 variant of its popular Meridian SUV, responding to strong consumer demand. The Limited (O) 4X4 trim now joins the lineup, offering customers a more accessible option compared to the top-end Overland variant, which is priced at ₹38.49 lakh (ex-showroom). While the official price of the new Limited (O) 4X4 variant is yet to be announced, it is expected to cost approximately ₹2 lakh less, making it a compelling choice for buyers seeking off-road capabilities at a lower price point.
Jeep Meridian 4X4 Variant: Engine and Transmission
The new Limited (O) 4X4 variant of the Jeep Meridian is powered by the same 2.0-litre diesel engine as its sibling. The engine delivers 168 bhp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. Buyers will have the option of choosing between a 6-speed manual transmission or a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Unlike the Overland trim, which offered 4X4 technology exclusively with the automatic transmission, the Limited (O) variant offers more flexibility by including both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options.
New Accessories Pack for the Meridian SUV
Jeep India has also introduced a new accessories pack for all variants of the Meridian SUV. This pack includes:
- Hood decal
- Side body decal
- Eyeliner accents
- Programmable ambient lighting
While pricing for these accessories hasn’t been disclosed yet, they are designed to enhance the SUV’s aesthetic appeal and personalization options.
Jeep Meridian: Price Range and Rivals
The Jeep Meridian is available in four primary trims: Longitude, Longitude Plus, Limited (O), and Overland, with prices starting from ₹25 lakh and going up to ₹38.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV competes directly with segment leaders such as the MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner, and other premium lifestyle SUVs.
