This announcement comes as Hyundai continues to strengthen its EV lineup following the discontinuation of the Hyundai Kona Electric in 2024.

The Hyundai Creta Electric builds on the success of the popular Creta ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) model, introducing cutting-edge EV technology while retaining its strong legacy in the SUV segment. Originally rumored to be named the Creta EV, the vehicle now takes on the moniker Creta Electric, signifying its role as a replacement for the Kona Electric.

  • Wheels and Rear: A new set of 17-inch aero alloy wheels and a redesigned rear bumper add to its modern aesthetic.

Battery and Range

  • 51.4 kWh Battery Pack:
    • ARAI Certified Range: Up to 473 km on a single charge.
    • Real-World Range: Approximately 392 km in normal driving mode.
  • 42 kWh Battery Pack Variant:
    • ARAI Certified Range: Around 390 km, catering to budget-conscious buyers.

Charging Capabilities

  • DC Fast Charging: Can charge from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes.
  • AC Home Charging: An 11 kW Smart Wall Box Charger takes the battery from 10% to 100% in about 4 hours.

Performance

The Creta Electric is expected to deliver impressive performance, with a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.9 seconds, ensuring a dynamic driving experience. Additionally, the EV will feature three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport, catering to diverse driving conditions.

Interior and Features

Inside, the Creta Electric retains the premium feel of its ICE sibling, with additional enhancements tailored to EV buyers:

Launch and Pricing

The Hyundai Creta Electric is set to make its official debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, where it will showcase its vision for sustainable mobility. Positioned as a premium mid-size electric SUV, the Creta Electric is expected to be priced between ₹20 lakh and ₹30 lakh, making it a strong contender in a competitive segment.
